This was written in a collaboration with an advocate who had this to say that those who dismissed her bullying:

IF A CEDP OFFICIAL SEES THIS

REMEMBER THIS: IT IS ABOUT TIME YOU WERE TAKEN TO TASK FOR YOUR NEGLIGENCE AND FAILURE TO PREVENT BULLYING OF DISABLED STUDENTS. #TAKEACTIONAGAINSTBULLYING

YOU HAVE FAILED MULTIPLE STUDENTS AND MYSELF AND IT IS ABOUT TIME YOU WERE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS.

Let’s start on with the bulletin.

A recent review of the education system by multiple people has found that the education of the CEDP (Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta) system in Australia is failing its students. With a massive lack of accommodations and bullies at the school failing to be held responsible. This comes after multiple students have reported being bullied in the schools. The CEDP has inevitably failed to hold said schools responsible over multiple accounts of bullying.

The CEDP (Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta) which is the main authority in charge of all of its schools including Nagle College in Blacktown, Our Lady of Lourdes Primary school in Seven Hills and Xavier College in Llandilo and in charge of Disabled education learning centres such as Wiyanga in Dundas and Kirinari in Llandilo. The system has left multiple students without access to accommodations and has not given them the appropriate value of education.

This comes after an autistic 17-year-old girl was left brutally scarred from the bullying and still remembers the way that the students had treated her during her time at Nagle College in Blacktown and at her primary School Our Lady of Lourdes. When this girl attempted to tell the CEDP about the abuse of her former schools they did not take into consideration her account. She has revealed that she has testified against Nagle College in The Disability Royal Commission for Exploitation and abuse. She has stated that she reported the abuse to teachers but to no avail.

The girl who’s name will be kept private has said that she had to resort to drastic measures to get the bully to leave her and her friends alone. She has revealed that these measures lead to her getting into trouble with the police. This is one of many cases in which the CEDP has failed to prevent bullying in their schools.

The 17-year-old girl has given a heart-wrenching testimony on what she had to go through at the hands of the bullying and how it scarred her. “It took a massive toll on me.” The girl said in an interview. The system has also failed in terms of counselling. As multiple students have gone to their school’s counsellor however the counsellor has either dismissed their bullying or made things worse for them.

Sadly as mentioned before this 17 yo is not the first as many others have had similar cases of being bullied and having their bullying dismissed. The CEDP is again not the first system to dismiss the bullying of their students and only care about money and reputation and not the students’ wellbeing.

However, a recent study has found that in order to have a good reputation the school care about the wellbeing of the students as this will prove that if a school has sufficient education and accommodations then the students will thrive in an academically friendly environment.

Enough evidence has been found to conclude that the CEDP and other corporations like that have failed the system. Let us hope that the CEDP takes responsibility for the school’s actions and gives them the appropriate discipline.

Another case of failure within the CEDP is the hiring of negligent staff. Staff hired by the CEDP are not fully equipped to properly follow protocol that safely de-escalate meltdowns. There have been reports of staff yelling at autistic students when the correct thing to do would have been to find out what is causing the problem.

With the principal of one disability unit centre gate-keeping the interests of autistic people and 2 other children being refused to do their NAPLAN. This shows full well the examples of ableist discrimination within the environment as the principal is exhibiting ableist behaviour.

An autistic person was also prevented from doing her NAPLAN by Nagle College. She has filed a complaint against her former school to no avail.
